Maximus was born at 27 weeks and was 1 pound heavier than Pierce, but our doctors were worried about all the same things. I know the anxiety and fear you are experiencing, but I also know the peace too. I think through the whole thing, no one was more at peace than us, his parents, knowing that our son was at exactly the right place, at the right time and with all the right people that God wanted him to be. It was a roller coaster for sure, but I knew more strongly than I have ever known anything, that the God of the universe was looking after my son. I can't explain it. But I know it.

Your greatest source of earthly encouragement will come from the halls of the NICU. Your nurses will overwhelm you with their care for your little Pierce and you will wonder how they can possibly love your little guy as much as they do. The other families will share in your pain and uncertainty and your joy. No one knows all that better than those going through it.

You become stronger than you think in the daily visitations to the NICU. You will find that you don't need nearly as much sleep if it means sitting with Pierce for an extra hour.

We are checking back several times a day and thinking about you constantly.JSMDOLLhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14008317974062596427noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4953876697232838920.post-16170271789937508242011-04-14T23:47:09.637-04:002011-04-14T23:47:09.637-04:00I do not know your family but saw this on a friend...I do not know your family but saw this on a friends facebook page.
