Just got back from visiting little man and he is doing remarkably well today. His vitals have remained stable for most of the day with an occasional desat here and there. The big news is that (drumroll please)... last night, Nik and I finally packed up our things and moved out of sleep room 2. It has been our home for the last 2 weeks. This is not to say that we won't be back in the near future, but needless to say it was a BIG step. I think the nurses were cheering as we left, probably relieved that the paranoid parents were finally trusting the nurses to do their jobs. In reality, we have loved all of the nurses and it is so encouraging to see how much they care for our son. God has been gracious in granting us peace. We trust that He is working in Pierce's life and that even when we are away, He is still with Pierce. Thank you all for your prayers for a quiet day- they are working. We will head back to the hospital in a little bit to tuck P in for the night and are hoping that he enjoys his care time as much as he did earlier today.
Love,
Lindsay, Nik and Pierce

I am so happy to hear that Pierce has had a great day! I have been following your blog for about a week now and I just wanted to offer you some hope and inspiration. My son, Travis was born at 23w2d on July 29, 2008. He was 1lb 3.5oz and 11 inches long. He faced MANY challenges in the NICU, but after 142 days he finally came home to us! He came home on oxygen, an NG tube, and an apnea/brady monitor. Slowly but surely our home went from looking like a miniature NICU to becoming "normal" and today we have a HANDSOME, healthy, active almost 3 year old! He runs and play with friends, is starting to talk and has the biggest best personality ever. If you want more information about our journey or would like pictures, please feel free to email me. I would be more than happy to share! My email is army_wife1008@yahoo.com. I will be praying for you to have a similar outcome!
