It has been about 19 hours since Pierce's surgery and so far, God has answered our prayers for a quiet night/day. He is still pretty groggy, but his vitals are looking great and he has still been on the conventional ventilator (with pretty low settings I might add!). Continue to pray that as he wakes, he will have an easy recovery and that things will go smoother than expected.
The medical team decided that it was best to not put in the CVL today, as they felt it unnecessary at this time (P didn't loose much blood during the surgery, nor have his hemoglobin levels dropped drastically) and they feel confident that they can now get an IV in should they need one. I feel confident about this decision. It just doesn't make sense to put him through another procedure right on the heels of surgery. Also, Dr. Peeler will be coming by today to remove the chest tube placed during the surgery. Pray that all goes smoothly with that.
We will keep you updated as Pierce recovers. Thank you all for the prayers and support.
Much love,
Lindsay, Nik and Pierce

Such rejoicing in my heart to hear all these good reports! Very grateful for the doctors and nurses--and for the Hands ("everlasting arms") of the Great Physician guiding every instrument and every procedure! Praise be to the Designer and Maker of little hearts!!
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you for sharing your walk through this valley!
Love and continued prayers,
Alice
Just read about baby Pierce on Kelly's Korner. His story so strikes a chord with me because today I am 23 weeks along with our first baby, Emily. What a precious little miracle you have there. God is faithful and you proclaim it so well. I have been so blessed by reading your blog entries. I'm praying Psalm 20 over your family today.
ReplyDeletePraying for your little guy and also posted a request on facebook so all my friends can pray for him too!
ReplyDeleteI would like to thank you for the efforts you have made in writing this article. I am hoping the same best work from you in the future as well. Thanks...
