lunch time report

Nik and I just got back from visiting with Pierce. He is still looking so cozy and relaxed. The nurses have him all nestled in a blanket and he seems to really enjoy that! His vitals and levels look great. Of course, the doctors/nurses are just anticipating which complication will arise next.

We met with Pierce's neonatologist for the week, Dr. Engstrom. Dr.Engrstom is a man of great faith (he is an elder at Christ Covenant)as well as a wonderful doctor. I can't tell you how much it ministered to us to know that Pierce's doctor, the one who will be calling all the shots this week, is trusting in the same God we worship for wisdom. After he explained what we should expect this week (although we know that preemies often throw you curve balls when you least expect it), he prayed over us and for complete healing in Pierce's body. And we prayed for him. Never has Jesus been so near. It was truly incredible. We ask that you join us in praying that Pierce's worst days are behind him and that there will be many, many more victories along this journey. And please pray that the brain scan today (scheduled for 3pm) will go well and that there will be no new bleeding.

Love,
Lindsay

PS- The same doctor who came to our room and woke us up to let us know it was time to hold Pierce, came to our room this morning with a huge smile on his face! And we were able to say, "See what our Lord did!" We praise God for that.

Please tell that beautiful son of yours that his sisters in Christ in Athens wish him a happy belated 5 day birthday and cannot wait to wish him a happy 7 day birthday tomorrow. Rejoicing and praying, rejoicing and praying. In Him, L Musgrove and family

  2. We have never met but I go to Misseo Dei in Asheville. I am praying for you. I have a little one who just turned 1 recently and I'm so encouraged by your hope and faith in Christ. I'm praying for little Pierce with tears of rejoicing and continued faith that he has and will continue to do better.

  3. Praise God!! So happy to hear the good news with Pierce's vitals. Jocelyn's pediatric cardiologist prayed with us in the hospital when she was born with a heart murmur & it was such a blessing. What a gift for patients and what an incredible platform of faith for "men of science". So thankful for that sweet nugget God has given. Can't wait for the good news on his brain scan. Am continuing in prayer for you all. Hugs!!

  5. Hi Lindsay, I am rejoicing with you in all these wonderful milestones Pierce is passing. Our family prays for your family everyday. I live in Greenville SC and I am friends with Lindsay Wardlaw. Even though we have never met, I feel so connected to you through the kinship of Jesus. Thank you for sharing all these precious details about Pierce with us. My sister is a nurse in the NICU at Levine Children's Hospital CMC in Charlotte and has helped baby Pierce. I pray for her and the babies she cares for everyday. I will also be praying for Dr. Engstrom, who was our elder for 10 years at Christ Covenant. What a small world. I am excited about God's glory that will be revealed in baby Pierce. --Deena Kane
