It appears our Saturdays have significantly improved with time. Today was yet another good day for Pierce. The only real complication was that his breathing tube was a tiny bit too small and thus was having some air leaks which led to him having to go up on his ventilator settings. Nothing major though, so we will take it and call it a night.
On a positive note, because Pierce behaved so well today, he was able to get some cuddle time with Momma tonight. I spent about 2 hours loving on our guy and doing kangaroo care. I loved every second of it and spent a good portion of the time praising God for Pierce's life. Pierce did great considering that the NICU was hoppin' tonight (usually the lights are turned down low and the noise is kept to a minimum, but tonight the babies seemed to be wide-awake and keeping the staff on their toes). Little man didn't seem to mind the commotion. Once he settled in, he dozed right off. Here's a pic we snapped at the end of our kangarooing session. P was so sleepy, he had his mouth-wide open, catching flies :)
Please continue to pray for quiet days/nights as our guy grows. Also pray for his bowels as this is still a major concern (and will be for the next 6 weeks or so) as his feeds are steadily increasing. We know that while today was relatively easy, the hurdles are coming. So we are learning to stay in the moment, always trusting Jesus.
