They got back the second x-ray of Pierce's stomach a little while ago and it still showed no signs of serious concern. They look the same as in the last x-ray but the gas had moved to the right, which means it is moving, which is a good thing. We are praying that this incident passes with no serious complications. He had a similar issue a few days ago. But at that time, it was without some of the other symptoms of a bowel infection. Right now, the biggest thing we need for Pierce is for his kidneys to start functioning properly again (continually pray for the bowels though). His urine output dwindled over the day to where he basically stopped. I just rejoiced a little as his last diaper showed that he peed 2 ml. We need a little bit more than that though to keep his electrolytes at the right levels. He has been producing 20-30 ml. The nurses just a got a blood gas back and it looks a lot better too. Tonight was just a reminder of how critical Pierce is and how at any moment things can change. We are seeing that with other babies in the NICU too. We have a peace, we know God is alive and we ask you to continue praying for our little man.
Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.
(1 Peter 5:6-7)
Love,
Nik, Lindsay, and Pierce

couldn't wait to get to the computer this morning with the update. I am praying, and everyone I know is too! we love you three. Lynn
ReplyDeleteI have been praying since I heard of Pierce's birth. I know that the Good and Holy Lord will watch over you all, and pray that His mercy and grace would be poured out on you. His Spirit is there with Pierce, constantly, and Pierce feels that I'm sure. May His healing touch be upon Pierce, and upon you. I know it's hard to provide these updates, but we all check multiple times a day, so appreciate them very much.
