Well, we have taken small steps all day. Tiny steps. Micropreemie steps. But no matter how small, we are grateful for the steps forward. Pierce has been stable today and has been able to be weaned on the ventilator. He is swollen, which is more than likely a reaction to all the fluids/meds/blood he has received over the past few days. He is up to 2lbs 3 oz! Although some of that is likely the fluid he is retaining. But nonetheless, he is gaining weight and growing! Please keep praying that he will continue moving forward and that he will be able to be weaned off of the ventilator by the end of the week.
Pierce was resting easy tonight when we left. Pray for a quiet night. Pray that his swelling would go down. Pray for his nurse, Jennifer. And pray that tomorrow he will take leaps and bounds forward.
Much love,
Lindsay
Here is a picture that his nurse Lindsay was able to snap today. I wonder where he got the hat from?!

ReplyDeletesweet boy...
ReplyDeleteI had to wait up tonight so I could get my nightly update on Pierce before going to bed. I am greatful that he is doing a little better. He is so beautiful. He will be in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteHe is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteJust wondering- why don't they have him nestled up? They always told us with ours that they had to keep their legs in to avoid hip displacement.
Again, he is just perfect and I'll be saying my prayers tonight for your sweet boy.
Michelle,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind words.
He's not nestled because his nurse was just about to do his cares before she snapped the picture. As soon as they are finished with his cares, he typically goes right on to his belly and gets nestled in the special z-flow pillow :)
so precious!!
