post-op details

Sorry it has taken us so long to update. Surgery was scheduled for 3, but didn't get underway until 430ish. It took about an hour and everything went perfectly. Our little guy was a champ and the surgeon was truly amazing. Tonight we are praising God that Pierce made it through without any complications and we are trusting in Him for a full recovery. We've been at the hospital most of the day and just got back home. When we left the hospital, Pierce was still heavily sedated and resting very comfy. Please join us in praying for a quiet night. Also pray that there will be no infections during this recovery period. The surgeon was able to drain off a significant amount of fluid from Pierce's brain, hopefully relieving most of the pressure. They will be able to tap this reservoir (shunt) daily if needed to drain more fluid until Pierce is old enough to have a full VP shunt placed. Thank you all for your prayers today, we definitely felt them.

Much love,
Lindsay, Nik and Pierce
