night time report

Nik and I just got back to the hospital after taking a little break at home. While it is SO hard to leave Pierce, it is so good for us to get home and have some sense of normalcy. We just checked on Pierce and he is doing well. Much more stable than earlier today. His nurse, Gail, flipped him on his belly (he loves that position!) and let me help in doing all of his cares for the night. I was able to take his temperature, help change his diaper (which turned into us witnessing his first poo!!!!), and clean his face with a damp rag. It was such a wonderful feeling to feel like I could do something as his mommy. And the best news of all is that he tolerated every second of it! Not once did his vitals drop. I know God is at work and He is hearing our prayers. Please continue to pray that Pierce will have a stable night and that he will continue to do well. We were able to be present for the Dr's rounds for the night and heard that the plan is to wean Pierce down on the nitric oxide. Please pray that he tolerates this well and that he is able to come off of it soon.

And on a side note, we just want to say THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to all of you who have supported us- through donating money, to bringing us meals, to sending notes of encouragement and most of all for praying for us! I hope as things grow more stable there will be time for a more proper thank you, but please know that right now, we are and continue to be uplifted by all of your support. God has really used it to minister to our souls.

Much love,
Lindsay, Nik and Pierce

  6. Just look at that sweet little BABY BOY. GOD is looking out for all of you. I told SADIE about our new BABY and she wants to know when he can come and play with her. I miss my dear, sweet Lindsay. It seems just like yesterday when you would buzzzz around the corner in your little green bug. Now you are a very proud MOMMA. I had great JOY in you changing a DIRTY diaper.
I hope all is well today. You have my heart and prayers.
    As always, Kathy
