One Month!

Pierce is exactly one month old today! It's hard to believe that it is already May 12th. God has been so good in bringing us through this first month and we feel so blessed to have our little boy here with us.

Pierce did great throughout the night as he continues to rest easy and recover from his surgery. I'm sure as he's waking up, he's probably feeling much better than he did before the procedure. Thank you all for your prayers. We are praying for a quiet day and that Pierce will begin to make strides in terms of progress. He is on the lowest ventilator settings today, which is great. If things continue this way, they will most likely attempt to place him back on the CPAP once he is fully awake. They will also resume feedings today so please be praying that no infection develops in his bowels. That is the biggest concern still.

I (Lindsay) just got back from my follow-up doctor's visit. Fortunately, I am healing well and was able to be released today. Thank you all for your continued prayers for my health as well. They are much appreciated. It was also neat to once again see the doctor who delivered Pierce and to be able to tell her thank you. She shared with me how nervous she was delivering such a tiny baby. It was also so special to rejoice with her and her staff as we talked about the many miracles that God has performed in our lives throughout this past month.

We will try to snap some photos tonight as we celebrate Pierce's birthday and we will try to post, so check back later :) And please join us in rejoicing in God's goodness as we celebrate at 7:42 tonight.

Christ is All,
Lindsay, Nik and Pierce

  2. Happy 1 Month birthday to Pierce! He has jumped so many hurdles already in his 30 days, what an amazing little miracle he is!

Our micropreemie had a VAD shunt placed when he was about a month old in the NICU and it made a world of difference. Once he came home and was a little bit bigger he had a VP shunt placed and has had no problems with it whatsoever! You would never know it's there, in fact our neurosurgeon said he knows football players, professors, and doctors that have shunts!

We are praying hard for your sweet little Pierce and can't wait to see all the progress he will make. Hang in there, you guys are doing great :)

  3. Nik & Lindsay,
I know you are going through a lot right now, but I just wanted to share a story with you. One of my co-worker's nephew was a preemie and had to have a shunt as well. He's 29 now and doing very well. God will shine upon and take care of Pierce as well. Lindsay, we also thank God for your healing.

Much love hugs, prayers and kisses to you all!

  5. Lindsay and Nik,
I was an "amusement park co-worker with Jen aka Puckett" I have been following the stories as she posts them. It is amazing to just read your posts and be with you in this. Jen always talked about you so much Lindsay that I feel like I know you. I want you to know that I am thinking of you and sending good juju your way. 6. I never thought I would be so excited to celebrate with a family I've never met. I've been reading this since day one (thanks to a mutual friend who posted it on facebook), and I am so encouraged by our Savior's presence in Pierce's life (and yours). I will continue to lift you all up to our Creator! One Month!!! :)
