Baby shower

First, let me start by saying that this post is way overdue! Back in April, about a week before Pierce was born, I went to the beach with some of my closest girl friends. I remember talking about my ever-changing body, and anticipating Pierce's arrival in August. The girls offered to throw me a shower. We joked and laughed and had SUCH an amazing time on our girls weekend. Little did I know that in more than a week, my baby would be born far too soon and life would change forever.

I feel so fortunate to have had such wonderful friends at my side through such a dark time. They were there for me, to support me, cry with me and share in the joys of Pierce's journey. I am forever indebted to each and every one of them. So, being the amazing friends that they are, they (along with 2 other close friends) threw the most incredible, most amazing baby shower EVER. Seriously, it was outstanding! It just so turned out that the shower landed on August 7th, the day before we celebrated Pierce's homecoming!

The theme was "Super Pierce," to go along with the vintage comic book nursery (pictures coming soon!) that we designed for Pierce. (For those of you who are reading this and thinking that vintage comic books is kind of random, let me explain: Nik owns an online business selling vintage comic books. In our tiny townhome, the boys share a room. Nik's office is on one half and Pierce's crib/stuff is on the other half.) So without further ado, here are some picture from the shower.

Special thanks to Erin, Brandy, Ashlyn, Becky, Sarah, and Christy for doing something so special for us!

  4. Quite interesting baby shower it was. I am truly impressed with these ideas. We also would be hosting a wedding shower for our cousin. She is having a funky theme for her wedding day that will be held at local New York wedding venues so I was thinking to use a funky theme for the shower as well. Do you have any inspirations?
